The Impact Experience Institute Senior Associate will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of our fast-growing, impact-oriented organization dedicated to the promise of a more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous world. Candidates should have an interest in the impact investing industry and a passion for building innovative solutions that create both financial value and meaningful social and environmental impact, as well as communicating financial value and meaningful social and environmental impact to external stakeholders.  The ideal candidate is detail oriented and can help support ongoing virtual and in person experience programming, in particular helping to put together communications and externally facing materials. Impact Experience has partnered with lead impact funders – both investors and philanthropists - and community leaders. This role provides the opportunity to support programming that will spark critical dialogue and co-creation of solutions that bring hope and opportunity to issues, places, and people that have historically been overlooked. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the CEO, Advisory Board and Partners of Impact Experience.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has a self-driven mindset and is persistent in following up and ensuring that convenings are executed with the highest level of professionalism.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing the ongoing implementation of products and offerings over time

  • Supporting on the preparation, executions and follow up of our virtual convenings 

  • Performing research and analysis including literature reviews, summaries of findings, participation in expert interviews, etc.

  • Developing client materials including proposals, presentations and reports

  • Working in collaboration with the rest of the team to deliver Impact Experiences

  • Report to COO of Impact Experience

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

Functional

  • Thrives in entrepreneurial environments

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and to the larger community

  • High attention to detail 

  • Knowledge of impact investing, climate justice, health equity and/or philanthropy preferred

  • Some background in racial justice, diversity, equity and inclusion work preferred 

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative 

  • Ability to use and learn new software including Zoom, and other communication platforms 

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Comfort working with a virtual team

  • Candidate would ideally have some event planning experience 

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience, no maximum - we welcome seasoned professionals too!

Business Initiative for Climate Friendly Finance – Retirement Savings Lead

 

About the Business Initiative for Climate Friendly Finance

The objectives of the Business Initiative for Climate Friendly Finance are to both decarbonize corporate bank accounts and employee retirement plans, starting with a group of leading U.S. companies. This approach is modeled after the success of REBA (now CEBA), which has convened companies to procure 100% renewable energy. The goals of this effort include moving capital towards climate friendly lending at minority depository institutions, credit unions, B Corp banks, and other climate-friendly lenders, as well as towards climate friendly retirement investment funds. Using a JEDI lens, the initiative is action oriented and focused on solutions development.

 

Summary of the Role

This is a special opportunity for an individual to help companies with the decarbonization of retirement accounts. This will involve working with leading companies to support them in aligning their retirement accounts and solutions with their climate commitments. Developing tools, serving as a connector, and working with various stakeholders in the defined contribution supply chain is imperative. In addition, this person will collaborate with corporations to measure their full scope 3, category 15 emissions and report these emissions, including finances and investments, and encourage other companies to measure and report carbon emissions resulting from their financial supply chain.

The ideal candidate has a curious, optimistic and compassionate mindset, an entrepreneurial and resourceful approach to problem-solving, a passion for social impact, and a spirit of humility in engaging with all stakeholders. Furthermore, the ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has a self-driven mindset and is persistent in following up and ensuring the highest level of professionalism. This role will include developing collateral and practical, actionable materials to educate and support retirement benefit teams at nonfinancial US companies. Will keep track of total assets shifted within corporations within scope 3, category 15, including developing case studies that quickly convey low hanging fruit opportunities for urgently aligning retirement accounts with climate action. Will also research, analyze, and synthesize product opportunities (mutual funds, target date funds, etc.) for climate impact and design new approaches with the asset management community using the results of a needs assessment from the non-financial companies. Qualifications:

Employee Retirement Savings Expertise

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with an asset manager that serves the defined contribution space

  • Experience working for a plan manager or investment advisor a plus

  • Experience working in the benefits department of a non-financial company a plus

  • Experience working for a financial regulator a plus

  • Strong network of climate-friendly product developers, retirement savings distribution channels, benefits providers, asset managers, and retirement investment advisors

 

Functional Expertise

Summary of The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Communications Associate plays a key role in establishing and executing the communications strategy for Impact Experience. The Communications Associate will help to create and implement Impact Experience’s communication plan, including but not limited to online media (social media, website, and video creation); newsletter; and marketing collateral and media. The communications Associate will be responsible for disseminating Impact Experience’s mission, vision, and impact to our current and future partners. 

 

Qualifications
The individual in this role must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment, executing quickly on a range of responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has proven project management, communications, and relationship management experience. 

Specific responsibilities include:

Digital Media 

  • Social Media 

    • Coordinate social media/network accounts by drafting and posting scheduled content, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

    • Ensure that Impact Experience has a strong social media presence across Health, Investment, Education, and Environment focused industries. 

    • Monitor online activity and respond/engage where appropriate

  • Website 

    • Assist COO and designated team members with website content development 

    • Ensure that new and existing information is posted regularly

  • Newsletter 

    • Draft content for monthly Impact Experience newsletter in collaboration with designated team members 

  • Videography 

    • Lead the planning and creation of videos for Impact Experience events and supplementary video content for advocacy and fundraising campaigns 

Marketing 

  • Collateral Materials 

    • Assist COO with the development, creation, distribution, and maintenance of collateral materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, postcards, and other leave-behinds 

  • Advertising

    • Identify opportunities for sharing more on Impact Experience and its partners 

 

Content Development 

  • Create PowerPoint presentations for high-level meetings

  • Write and edit content for articles and other publications 

 

Cross-functional Responsibilities 

  • Work in collaboration with the rest of the team to deliver Impact Experiences

  • Provide thought leadership across strategy, implementation and integration relating to programs, projects and initiatives 

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • At least 1 year of experience in social media, digital asset and content production, and communications - we welcome seasoned professionals too!

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong ability to match brand tone and communicate in a persuasive and passionate way with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills 

  • Multimedia production skills, including familiarity with video and sound editing ideal;   familiarity and  experience with design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and  Canva 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures 

  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to communications and organizational strategy
